factory and they have migrated from the Beed district to the Solapur district in Maharashtra, India.
We observed that their children were unhealthy and therefore decided to conduct health and hygiene workshops for the families in the community . We provided demonstrations of healthy bodies and hygienic practices and provided them with medicine for cough and fever, as well as information about the Government health scheme.
We incentivised them to clean their houses by providing them with prizes. Now, several members from the community, including girls, are maintaining their personal hygiene and a healthy living environment.
We are grateful to our partner, Commonwealth of Learning’s GIRLS Inspire, through the RTU project, for helping us develop the skills and immense potential of rural women through our life skills trainings.
