Kavya: Inspired by Stories, Stories to Inspire.

Today, we are proud to launch our first #GIRLSInspire publication – Kavya – written and illustrated by Kuntal De.
Kavya, which means both Sanskrit poetry and inspired, is a book that illustrates four stories of determination, hope and courage. It visualises the lives of men, women and girls who struggle with issues of poverty and #ChildMarriage, and the role that education plays to address these issues.
In the words of Kuntal, “GIRLS Inspire is about much more than education for girls. It is a catalyst for activism aimed at bringing hope and change for both girls and boys. Its message is universal, hence our use of storytelling.”

GIRLS Inspire is a project of the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), funded by the Government of Canada through the Global Affairs Canada office and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Australia, with the aim to end the cycle of child, early and forced marriage and to address the barriers that prevent women and girls’ economic participation.
