International Women’s Day 2020 celebration of CMES

CMES celebrated 2020 IWD in its twelve project sites, under the theme; “an equal world is an enabled world: each for equal”. As part of the celebration, girls and women of the RtU project stroke the “each for equal” pose showing their determination and courage to fight against stereotypes and biases.

In each project sites a rally took place. The rallies crossed the villages and raised the banners with the slogan #EachforEqual. Also, as part of the celebrations they held a volleyball competition, a cross-country cycle race, a drawing competition, and an essay writing competition.

People from the communities including local support groups, community working committee members of the project and the chairman members from the Union Parishad were present during the various events. In some of the units, the Upazilla Nirbahi Officer were also present and participated in the celebration.
In some of the units the women and girls displayed their products from the fashion garments trade. All the products were highly appreciated by the visitors. This was a way of showing and celebrating the women’s achievements while being part of the GIRLS Inspirer’s RtU Project.
