March 8 is International Women’s Day! It is a day to celebrate all women’s achievements and is a call for continued focus on gender parity and equality. This year is focused on closing the gender gap, particularly in light of SDG Goal 5 and the 2030 Agenda. Around the world, women continue to face obstacles that hinder them from full and equal participation in society, from earning less wages compared to men, carrying more household work or facing extreme barriers to their rights and security. International Women’s Day serves as a reminder that gender equality can be a reality. Find out more about International Women’s Day here and here.
